Robot Face Expression Engine / guide

Show your language model's emotions on a robot face

A language model can already tell you how it feels about what it is saying. The simplest reliable way to get that onto a face is to let it write a short tag before the words it belongs to, like [curious 0.6] Where did you find it?, and strip the tags before text-to-speech. Type your own tagged sentence above and watch the face perform it.

What makes it look right

Tags tell the face what to feel; timing decides whether anyone believes it. The engine shifts each expression slightly ahead of its words, blinks as the thought changes, and keeps the mouth on the voice. The package includes a system-prompt block that teaches the model 65 expressions and some restraint: at most one tag per sentence, quiet tags for everyday talk. It works with any model, local or hosted, because it only reads the reply text.
